Saying "NO": is it so easy?

Finally, after a week of break because of the electricity issue, we could meet up for an English Practice🤗. And how to say “No” to this such a nice group of people even if you’re tied up 🙃. By the way, how to say “No” politely and with gratitude - this and other questions we discussed during the meeting. Also we found out what are other phrases might be used instead of “I’m busy”.

Here are some examples of them: “I’m tied up”, “I have lots on my plate”, “My hands are full”, “It’s been a hectic day” etc. We all came up with an idea that it’s really not easy to refuse, but after watching a video we learned about some strategies which we could use in the future.

P.C. all the phrases, expressions and videos you can find in our telegram group, so please join us 👇

Walt Disney World

I had a nice class with schoolchildren of @dieslovo.ks which we dedicated to the events in the past. Because mostly kids love Disney characters we decided that they could help make the lesson more entertaining.

We looked through some Past Simple rules and consolidated them having different activities. I’m so glad we have zoom meetings cause we all can be united even if we’re far away from each other.

I believe that one day we’ll meet each other at the @library_kherson_ua and @dieslovo.ks

English, friends, games..

Today’s meeting of our English Practice was held by our friend from Canada who is currently living in Ukraine.

Thanks to @nathanyeshe we revised not only the vocabulary related to shopping but the pronunciation of these words . We discussed different questions, made up sentences and tried to make them fun , played a game “Dobble” and had a blast .
This hour of English practice just flew by so we can say that it was enjoyable for everyone.

Social Medias

Which of these popular abbreviations do you know? Yesterday’s meeting of English Practice we dedicated to Social Medias and learned some slang which is common in everyday life when you’re online. We discussed questions, shared our favorite apps and told why we use them. BTW a game “What’s on your phone?” we played at the beginning helped us to find out something new about each other.

In search of American holidays

This week the USA is celebrating its birthday. And we’d like to thank every American citizen who supports Ukraine and our people. That’s July 4th is one of the most popular American holidays which people enjoy not only in the US but in the rest of the world. Our Speaking Session we dedicated to this magnificent country and dove into its life a bit.
We discussed some opinions about American culture and then learned some American Idioms which are still very common in English. We did some exercises to practice using them on the interactive platform CoolEnglish that made this learning more effective.

If only I had done that

What would have happened if you’d always listened to you parents ? Last time when we had the English Practice we could remember about our childhood, some mistakes we did and some things we didn’t do and now regret them.

Firstly we revised some Conditional Sentences and how to use them in everyday life. Then we watched a video to practice our listening and improve our vocabulary. As usual we had lots of speaking which is always fun.

The best time of our lives

Talking about the age is sometimes might be awkward but not for these people who improve English with our Practice

It took us two meetings to talk about “The best time of our lives” where we discussed pros and cons of being different ages, learned idioms and practiced them talking about ourselves.
What’s the best age to be?

April fool’s day

How to stay positive during these days, especially if you’re away from home or your family? My friends who join the English Practice, share their “recipes” of being happy against the odds. Some of them dedicate themselves to their favorite activities and hobbies. The others spend much time with families and friends. And the most important thing is to serve and help people in need. So we had a fun Speaking practice yesterday watching some videos, discussing questions, making up funny jokes and learning new vocabulary in English.

I can definitely say that this group of people makes my day and helps being cheerful even if something doesn’t work for me.

Thank you 🙏😊 friends for joining our meetings.
