Christmas Traditions

The day after Christmas 🎄we gathered with VSPP Varley Paul and participants of Speaking Club. We talked about weekends and holiday season, we also imagined our perfect destination for the Christmas and New Year. Places were different: the Caribbean islands 🏝️, New York City 🗽, European Countries. After that our American guest, Varley shared some of her travel pictures and her dad, Peter told about his adventures. What a nice meeting we had ☺️. Thanks everyone who took part and joined us.

Comparing Lifestyle

Today we had a nice online meeting of Speak Out Club where we talked about people’s lifestyles. Our special guest from the USA, Varley Paul prepared a slide show with great and useful vocabulary, after which she made our visitors talk a lot. We discussed our morning routine activities, weekend preferences and seasonal traditions comparing them with life in Ukraine and the United States. At the end of the session we could improve our English doing "Would you rather" activity, which is always fun.

If you’re interested in improving your English we’d love to invite you to join our next meeting, on December 26th at 15.45 Kyiv time.

New meetings of Speak Out Club

That was a great start of new online meetings where we all gathered to improve our English with the Virtual Service Pilot Participant from Philadelphia. Varley Paul shared an amazing presentation, video and pictures of her city and Pennsylvania State, after which the visitors had some conversation.
We’re impressed that most people who joined this session were from Kherson and they are currently staying in Kherson too. What brave people.
A big thanks to @peacecorpsukraine for support and participation in this event. We want to inform you that we’re going to have such meetings every Tuesday at 15.45 time.

Mutual Help as a lifestyle

Who is a volunteer? That’s a person with a big and open heart ❤️, who’s always kind and ready to be there for others, who you can count on anytime. We're absolutely sure you can add more details about such people.

International day of Volunteers is celebrated on December, 5th but it is also a special date for Kherson Oblast Library for Children and for everyone who keeps in touch with volunteers. We are so grateful for amazing people who’ve visited our library at least once in their lifes and made a significant contribution to our community and library development. Lots of Peace Corps Volunteers helped visitors of the library improve their English and other life skills. So many meeting were held by them. We’re still glad to hear from everyone and meet them on our English Practices which we're currently conducting online.

And also we’re all really thankful for all who support Ukraine 🇺🇦🫶, who help people in need and try to make each day better for others despite their own struggles.
Let’s value these incredible people and do our best to get the victory 🕊️🇺🇦. Together we can do more 🙌
