The Power of Words

A new season is just around the corner!
As summer slowly comes to an end, we had a special English Speaking Practice for adults - a chance to pause, look back, and think about what these past months brought us. We reflected on our summer memories, little victories, unexpected moments, and things we learned along the way. We shared what made this summer special and what we would perhaps do differently.
And then… we looked ahead!
We dreamed about the coming autumn, talked about our hopes and expectations, and made plans for the new season. Some plans were big, some were simple - but all of them reminded us that a new season is always a chance for a fresh start.

Life is better when you know IDIOMs
We had a wonderful speaking practice with our adult English group yesterday afternoon.
We started the class with a fun warmer about summer activities that people are enjoying these days. Everyone shared what they have been doing recently — from traveling and swimming to hiking, gardening, spending time with family, and enjoying the warm weather. It was a great way to get everyone talking from the very beginning and to practice speaking naturally about everyday life.

Speak Up. Emodji challenge
Another wonderful evening of English Speaking Practice with our amazing adults!
This time, we kicked things off with a fun emoji challenge. Everyone picked an emoji that represented a food they would love to eat as a comfort food, a dessert, or simply something they were craving at that moment.

Summer is in full swing, and so is our English Speaking Club
Our native English speaker, Alana, led an engaging discussion on how to avoid burnout during the summer. Together, we explored practical ideas for staying energized, finding balance, and making the most of the season. Participants also learned a variety of useful phrasal verbs connected with relaxation, motivation, and everyday life.
To wrap up the meeting, we enjoyed a lively “Ask Me Anything” activity, where everyone had the chance to ask and answer interesting questions, keeping the conversation flowing naturally in English.
With the U.S. Independence Day just around the corner, it was also a great opportunity to learn more about American culture while strengthening our confidence in speaking English.
Thank you to everyone who joined us! We can’t wait to see you at our next English Speaking Club for more conversations, new vocabulary, and great memorie.

Balance, Rest and Flexibility. Summer Break Session
Our final English Speaking Practice before summer break was full of laughter, debates, memories, and “main character summer” energy!
During this Zoom meeting, participants reflected on the past year through memes, shared their dream summer bucket lists, debated hot takes like “Is summer overrated?” and talked about personal growth and glow-ups.

Keeping the Mind Active & Planning During Summer
This time, together with a native speaker, we talked about how to make summer not only fun, but also meaningful. Through interactive games, debates, speed chats, and creative activities, participants shared their ideas about productivity, personal growth, social media habits, and summer goals.
- Should summer always be productive?
- How can we balance rest and self-improvement?
- What skills do teenagers really want to develop?
- What would our “future selves” thank us for?
A huge thanks to our native speaker for making the discussion engaging and authentic, and to all the participants for their creativity, openness, and active participation!
