On the eve of the 4th of July, our English speaking session was full of laughter, memories, and advanced vocabulary!
The focus of the evening was on phrasal verbs commonly used when talking about parties, gatherings, and festive events—such as kick off, set up, let loose, and look back on. We explored their meanings, compared similar expressions, and discovered subtle differences that make everyday English sound more natural.
In pairs and small groups, we shared how we usually celebrate summer, talked about the kinds of parties we enjoy, and even acted out real-life situations where these phrasal verbs naturally come up. From setting up a last-minute barbecue to clearing up after a celebration, our examples brought the vocabulary to life.
One of the highlights was the opportunity to speak with a native English speaker. Learners were able to hear real, idiomatic usage in context and ask questions in a supportive and relaxed atmosphere.
It was a truly energizing session—full of practice, insights, and connection through language. We walked away more confident, more fluent, and ready to celebrate with words that truly fit the moment.
