Zoom in

Today in our English Speaking session we focused on leaning another 10 high-level phrasal verbs that help us sound more natural in English. Some of them we talked about were related to making acquaintances, worrying, feelings and coping with misunderstanding at work etc. Together, we unpacked their meanings, practiced them in context, and created role-play situations. Participants shared some common life moments where they freaked out before a presentation, hit it off with a new friend or had to walk someone through a confusing task at work.

Such meetings help us build stronger speaking skills; use more natural expressions and feel more confident when talking to a native speaker.

How to cope with challenges?

For the past two months, our incredible group has been diving deep into the world of phrasal verbs—and guess what? We’ve already learned over 60 useful expressions that help us sound more natural and fluent in English!

During today’s online session, we explored 10 more phrasal verbs like glow up, put aside, trim down, and brush up, spruce up etc. We used fun visuals, matched phrases to real-life situations, and discussed how to apply them in our everyday conversations.
We’ve also been practicing through role-play, sentence-building games, and real-time chats. It’s amazing to see how confident everyone has become!
Learning phrasal verbs can be tricky—but when you practice them regularly and see them in context, they finally start to stick with you!

Bounce off and other useful expressions

This week’s advanced English Speaking Practice was all about connection, communication, and encouragement. Our topic: “Bounce Off and Other Useful Expressions”.

We explored powerful phrasal verbs and idioms that help us talk about how we interact with others—how we support, encourage, and communicate more meaningfully.

Through engaging speaking activities and thoughtful discussions, we tackled questions like:
How do you bounce ideas off someone in a productive way?
• What’s the best way to encourage a friend who feels stuck?
• When should you open up to others—and how do you know someone needs to talk?
The atmosphere was supportive, fun, and full of insights. Participants shared personal experiences, acted out mini-dialogues, and discovered new ways to express care, connection, and collaboration—in fluent English.
Thanks to everyone who joined us and brought their ideas, stories, and energy!

From Fear to Fluency — Together!

Since October 2024, teens from Kherson and Mariupol met weekly to practice English with our amazing American guest — Alana Underwood, a Virtual Service Participant with Peace Corps Ukraine.

We played games, discussed inspiring topics, and helped each other grow in confidence and language skills.
This was more than just a club — it became a community. 💬❤️

“I overcame my fear of speaking English.”
“It wasn’t just a course — it felt like a family.”

Each meeting was filled with support, connection, and real conversation.
At the end, participants received certificates and shared heartwarming feedback.
And we truly hope… this is only the beginning!

Thank you to everyone who made this journey so special!

Let’s throw a party!

On the eve of the 4th of July, our English speaking session was full of laughter, memories, and advanced vocabulary!

The focus of the evening was on phrasal verbs commonly used when talking about parties, gatherings, and festive events—such as kick off, set up, let loose, and look back on. We explored their meanings, compared similar expressions, and discovered subtle differences that make everyday English sound more natural.

In pairs and small groups, we shared how we usually celebrate summer, talked about the kinds of parties we enjoy, and even acted out real-life situations where these phrasal verbs naturally come up. From setting up a last-minute barbecue to clearing up after a celebration, our examples brought the vocabulary to life.

One of the highlights was the opportunity to speak with a native English speaker. Learners were able to hear real, idiomatic usage in context and ask questions in a supportive and relaxed atmosphere.

It was a truly energizing session—full of practice, insights, and connection through language. We walked away more confident, more fluent, and ready to celebrate with words that truly fit the moment.
